We loved the play area, with its games, trampoline, and kids’ space, and the ski room was excellent. The location worked well too: the ski bus stops right outside, and the train station connecting Mayrhofen with the Zillertal area is a short walk away. The new rooms are wonderful. We stayed in SUITE FAMILIENGLÜCK, on the same floor as the gym and sauna. It was spacious, with good clothes storage, both a bath and shower, electric blackout curtains, and a large balcony with a great view. There was enough space between rooms that we didn’t hear guests opening or closing doors. The spa and pool are modern and lovely. Food was good, dinner drinks weren’t too expensive, and reception staff were friendly. Some things could be better. Much of the staff, especially at dinner, didn’t speak even basic English, which made communication difficult for us as Portuguese guests. At certain times, a sauna master is on duty. The sauna is for guests over 16 and requires no swimwear. He came up to us inside the sauna, speaking German and gesturing, but without English we couldn’t understand what was happening. We later worked out that slippers weren’t allowed, though there was no clear sign saying so. The same sauna master came back another time and shouted at several guests in German because their towels weren’t positioned correctly or covering the floor where they put their feet. Guests shouldn’t be shouted at or spoken to rudely or aggressively, especially in a place meant for relaxing. For us, that was the worst part of the stay, and it didn’t make sense in a four-star hotel. Dinner service also finishes early, at 8:30 p.m., and checkout at 10:00 a.m. is earlier than the around-noon time many hotels offer.

We stayed with our nine-month-old baby and found the hotel very child friendly. The food, wellness area, room, and game room were all very good, and the service was great. Some reviews mention a noisy restaurant, but we didn’t find it noisy ourselves. Thank you!

Our family of eight spent a week skiing at Hotel Berghof, and we had an incredible stay. Sonja looked after us at breakfast, dinner, and the bar. Her warmth, professionalism, and traditional clothes made every meal a pleasure. If you get a table in her section, you’re in for a treat. She was a real highlight, and we’ll remember her fondly. Every staff member gave great service and attention to detail. There was plenty of food choice for different tastes, and the spa was fantastic, with two saunas, massage services, heated indoor and outdoor pools, and a separate area for kids. The spa was lovely and really clean, and we spent each afternoon there. Dinner was better than we expected, and we found ourselves looking forward to it every night. Breakfast buffet was nice too. Gabriella was assigned to us for the week, and she was so sweet. We enjoyed our chats with her at dinner. It’s a big hotel, but the family owners still make it feel personal. Our room was one of the older ones. It was a bit dated, but seemed fairly priced and good value. We had a great week-long ski holiday. We don’t usually return to hotels, but we’ll probably make an exception here.
