Haus Fernblick

We had some lovely walks in the mountains and valleys, even though Mayrhofen is better known as a winter resort. Getting around by public transport was easy and accessible. We arrived by plane and train from the U.K. and didn’t have a car. We’d highly recommend both the accommodation and the area for a fantastic summer holiday, and we’ll return someday. My wife and I stayed for a week from 22 June 2018. The Thanner family gave us a warm welcome. We were in Apartment Lande, with amazing views that included the two main cable cars travelling up and down the mountains. We loved sitting on the terrace at different times of day, in the sun and after dark. Of all the apartments we’ve stayed in across Austria, Switzerland, Northern Italy, Germany, and France, this was probably one of the best equipped. They’d thought of some essentials that are often missing elsewhere. The apartment was excellent, very clean and comfortable, with a modern shower room and other features. On our last evening, Edmund and his son invited us to join their tradition and have a glass or two of schnapps. We all sat tasting it on the apartment terrace, which was really enjoyable. The Thanner family’s warm hospitality made our stay special, and we hope to visit again. We spent a week at Fernblick in February 2018 and really enjoyed the high-quality apartment. It’s perfectly placed within walking distance of the city centre and ski lift.

Christian and his Schnapps dispenser were a hit! We were nine people spread across the ground-floor and top-floor apartments, and really liked how modern and clean everything was. The boot room was set up well too. Thanks for having us in Mayrhofen, we’ll definitely be back.

We had an amazing week in this really nice apartment. The one downside was the Wi-Fi charge when we stayed in 2014: it was 10 euros for each phone, tablet, or laptop that needed access. That was a real bummer. I don’t know if it still works that way.
