Angela made Hotel Angela feel especially welcoming. Every morning she greeted guests by name, such as “Mr Parry” or “Mrs so-and-so,” asked how the day had gone, and took a real interest in the skiing. We even shared a schnapps, a lovely touch of alpine hospitality. There are a few house rules, but they’re fair and firm, and they help make for a peaceful night after a long day on the slopes. The breakfast was amazing, with a huge spread of continental meats, grains, nuts, breads, and fresh fruit. The blueberries were honestly the best I’ve ever had at a hotel, and breakfast set us up well for a day skiing. The place was also the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in: fresh towels each day, beds made daily, and everything spotless throughout. Hotel Angela was one of the best places I’ve stayed. If you want a warm, traditional Alpine stay that’s clean, welcoming, and very well run, it’s brilliant. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. An absolute gem in Mayrhofen.

Over a two-week snowboarding trip from Zurich to Kitzbuhel, I stayed in a range of hotels and Airbnbs. Villa Angela was easily the nicest and most centrally located place on the trip. It’s family owned and run, and you can tell. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. There are boot heaters and secure underground parking, and the style feels modern with old Victorian vibes. I’ll stay here again.

After a restless day on the slopes, this charming little hotel is a cozy place to come back to. The rooms have the nicest wooden design I’ve ever seen, and Angela’s soul seems to be in every detail. Breakfast is available. The hotel sits in the heart of Mayrhofen, surrounded by the Austrian Alps. Owner Angela was always reachable by phone before the visit and helped with all my issues. The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre, within walking distance of everything, and only five minutes from the main bus and train station. The post office is close too. Angela, the owner, was incredibly helpful. She checked bus timetables for us and even found a cloth for cleaning my hiking boots. Whenever I needed anything, I could dial 9 and she’d come help. The room was super cute and had everything I could ask for, and breakfast was impressive with lots of options.

I booked this snowboarding holiday at the last minute for late February 2018 and was very pleased with my stay. It isn’t five-star accommodation, but it’s good: clean, comfortable, and with a nice breakfast. What stood out most was how friendly and helpful the owner and staff were. Their attitude was five star, and they couldn’t do enough to make sure guests had a pleasant stay. Thanks!
