Hotel Jägerhof

There were 14 of us, all adult men sharing twin or single rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. On arrival, we were welcomed with a cold beer, and check-in was quick and easy. The owners and staff were friendly and informative, and checking out was just as easy. The rooms were warm, nicely decorated, and a good size. Breakfast was amazing, with a huge buffet and a separate menu, and everything was cooked perfectly. It’s at the top of the high street, just minutes from either gondola. We also had dinner at the restaurant one evening during a Turkish buffet, which was amazing. Some of the group said it might be the best hotel they’ve stayed in after many large-group ski trips. We like trying a different resort each year, but if we return to Mayrhofen, we’ll definitely look to stay here again. You won’t be disappointed.

The owner helped us find a taxi to the airport at the last minute, and all the staff were so nice and helpful. We really enjoyed our bed and breakfast stay at Jägerhof. There’s a lovely sauna for guests, and it’s a five-minute walk to the main Penken lift. The bus to HinterTux stops right outside. I can recommend it to couples and families.

The spa was lovely, and it was a delight having my coffee and egg order remembered each morning. From the moment we arrived, Sabine & Willi made us feel at home. You can see the care they put into little things, like cotton swabs and facial pads in the bathroom, and the sweetest surprise on Christmas morning. If we’re back in Mayrhofen, this will be at the top of our list.

Staying here felt like visiting friends who love to cook. This family-run hotel is a true hidden gem in Tirol, with hospitality and a real passion for great food and drinks everywhere. I’m definitely coming back and can highly recommend it.
