Gästehaus Mathies

The guesthouse feels lovingly put together, and it's spotless. The spa is lovely, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast was good. We especially enjoyed the breakfast room and its beautiful view. 10/10, highly recommend!

I really enjoyed having a single room here. The hosts are sociable and happy to chat, but they can tell when you want some quiet, which I appreciated. Tea is free at any hour, and there's a well-stocked drinks cabinet with a good selection for a fee. My room also had a small refrigerator, which was a nice extra. The whole place is spotless, with lots of real wood and a modern feel. The hosts clearly care about the design, and the spa is excellent. The view is breathtaking, and breakfast and service were both just right. One small downside for someone noise-sensitive like me: the soundproofing isn't great. I could hear snoring next door and people in the hallway, so bring earplugs if that bothers you. Apart from that, it's wonderfully quiet. The single room worked really well for my solo trip. The website description and photos are accurate, and I'd happily return.

The house was spotless, breakfast was good, and everyone was friendly without being intrusive, which matters to me. I spent a lovely week at Gästehaus Mathies in early June. The weather was mixed, but that's out of anyone's hands, and I still got in lots of nice hikes. I can definitely recommend it and hope to stay again, as soon as a room is free 😀

The house is modern and very clean, but still feels warm. My room was stylishly furnished without being overdone, and breakfast had everything I needed to start the day. The service especially stood out, with a very attentive, friendly woman looking after things. I felt comfortable the whole time and will definitely return. Booking was simple thanks to the quick, friendly contact with Ms. Mathies. I arrived and checked in a little late, but it all went smoothly. The warm welcome and hospitality were clear as soon as I walked in. I came for a short stay that wasn't really a holiday, yet it felt like one. Thank you for such a lovely time!
