The best parts were the good food and service, the roomy ski equipment room, and being able to ski straight from the piste to the Hotel. It's also near the village centre, and the bus ride to the Wildkogel Arena cable car takes five minutes. The smoking at the bar from 2100 hours was a real problem for us as non-smokers. The bar is central to the seating areas and isn't properly separated, and the smoking rule wasn't always followed. I left my ski shoes behind when we departed. They sent them to me at no charge, and they arrived three days later. Brilliant, thanks!

We got there quickly and easily by train from Salzburg to Neu. The Hotel sits on a hill at the far right side of town. For 1.5k euros for eight nights in winter, the room was very good value. I gave it 5/5. The atmosphere also gets 5/5 from me, a rustic yet modern wood lodge that I loved. Cleanliness was 4/5: with carpet you can expect some dust, though the toilets and amenities were pristine. Friendliness gets 4/5. It would have been better if staff spoke English, since the guide was all in German.
