Obertraun felt lovely and scenic, and much less touristy than Hallstatt. We rented e-bikes and rode over there, and were glad we’d stayed two nights so we could visit Hallstatt and go up the mountain. Our room was spotless, with a view of the lake and Hallstatt. Breakfast had a great range, including homemade apple streudel. Thomas and Franziska were friendly, gracious hosts with plenty of useful information. We had a really lovely two-night stay and would highly recommend this charming b&b for a trip to the Austrian Alps.

We had a lovely two-night stay, with welcoming hosts and a good breakfast. We rode e-bikes to Hallstatt and liked that better than taking the ferry or bus. There’s great hiking nearby too. You can’t go wrong here.

Tom and his wife were friendly and very accommodating. They even offered to drive us to the station, which was above and beyond. It’s about a 10-minute walk from there, though there’s a bit of a slope. The room was warm, comfortable, and clean, and breakfast had a great selection with delicious homemade desserts. The hotel is near the train station, at the bottom of the lake at Hallstatt. Excellent room and owners.

Parking is available on the property, and the place is only a few minutes from Halsttat. It was very peaceful, with a great bedroom view. The owners were kind and helpful, the rooms sparkling clean, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and offered a good variety. I highly recommend it.
