The location is right by Obertraun train station and behind the lake. A supermarket, a great pizza place, and kayak and bike rentals are close by. The rooms were spacious, with a really nice balcony, sofa and water heater. Everything is self-service, including taking care of the rubbish and bedding. One thing that could be better: provide soap and shampoo for travelers. The balcony only has one seat, though two would make sense since most guests are couples or groups.

The balcony view was the one good thing. Inside, the apartment was really dirty, with stains all over the carpets and a horrible smell from the bed. It would be worth considering if the place were better maintained.

The views of the Hallstatt mountains are stunning, and on a clear day you can see the funicular going up to the salt mine. Unfortunately, the stay itself wasn't nice. There are quite a few odd rules and usual services you'd expect aren't provided. You have to take out the trash at checkout, and if you use the kitchen, you must wash and dry all the utensils or pay for another day's stay, or €60. There's no parking lot, so overnight parking nearby costs extra. The balcony is shared with other rooms and isn't private. A simple divider would help.

It was affordable and well located, but quite noisy. There was no shampoo or shower gel, despite Airbnb saying they would be provided.

The late check-in and early checkout were a problem, and there was no breakfast. I didn't see any staff member until I tried putting the key in the staff room. There was also no parking space or parking allowance. The rooms felt unsafe, were tiny and not properly cleaned, with barely enough room to walk around the bed. The heaters were set halfway when we arrived and didn't start warming the room. It wasn't very cold at first, but got colder in the middle of the night. The balcony wraps around and is shared with the other rooms. This should be the last choice among the other options.
