Posthotel Kassl

The outdoor pool was lovely, with a beautiful view, and the rooms themselves were nicely renovated. Much of the rest of the hotel could use modernising, especially the old spa, which needs renovation and has only a tiny Finnish sauna. On arrival and throughout our stay, the atmosphere felt odd and the service wasn't welcoming. Nobody explained breakfast and dinner hours, the ski room, or spa facilities; we had to ask about everything ourselves. We'd emailed ahead to request a water boiler for the room and got confirmation, but it wasn't there when we arrived. Staff struggled with German, which caused misunderstandings when ordering. It also felt strange seeing employees, especially the owners, eating in the entrance and lobby where guests could see them. The afternoon snack was a nice idea, but the soups and cake weren't good quality. For what it costs, the value didn't add up.

The food was a real highlight of our 10 days at the Posthotel Kassl. We booked half pension, and from breakfast through dinner and everything in between there was a wide choice of excellently prepared dishes. Each day felt like a delightful adventure. The staff were attentive, and the facilities were exceptional, including indoor and outdoor pools, a perfect wellness area and saunas. Our spacious room was relaxing, and the opulent, wood-clad bar was a pleasure to spend time in. Everything exceeded our expectations. Just our opinion, and I hope you find the same. Frank & Kim

We booked at the last minute while driving from Lucerne to Salzburg to split up the trip, and ended up staying a second night, delaying our onward journey. What a gem. The friendly service and attention to detail made us want to stay longer. We also loved the fantastic food, with its large selection and good prices, and relaxing by the outdoor pool with mountain views. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, and the rooms were modern and clean. Breakfast had a very good selection of local products, and dinner was tasty. We especially loved the wellness and pool area, particularly the outdoor pool overlooking the mountains. It's a great spot for skiing: the lift is a 10-minute walk away, or a bus from right outside the hotel gets there in three minutes. The ski storage facilities are very modern too.
