The owners were so considerate when our car broke down on departure day. We’d booked one week, but they let us stay another two days. The rooms were lovely and very clean, with towels, nice beds, a fridge and freezer. There’s no oven, though we didn’t need one. From the balcony, the view over the ossiacher see was beautiful, and we had good parking of our own. Camping parth down the street has a free beach with a dock and plenty of space to lie out, plus a supermarket for fresh bread and other essentials. We also got a karnten card, which gives access to lots of free activities and museums. Such kind, helpful owners. We had a great stay and would really recommend it.

The weather let us down, so we couldn’t make much use of the lovely balcony, which was a pity. Inside, our apartment was very clean and well furnished. We’ll definitely recommend Pension Strauss.

It’s about 1 km to the center and Ossiach Abbey, with a bike path and hiking routes starting right outside. The lake loop is 26 km. The family-run house has several very clean, carefully furnished self-catering apartments, all with balconies, and there’s a lockable garage for bikes. Fresh bakery rolls are available in the morning. Guests can use the lake access and sunbathing lawn at Camping Parth, and pets are allowed. The lake view is lovely, parking is plentiful, and half-board is available at the nearby Camping Restaurant Hexenpfandl.

The apartment had everything we needed and was in a fairly quiet spot, with restaurants and shops nearby. Lots of cycling and hiking routes start from here. It was clean and well kept, and the owner was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
