Haus Kirchmaier

This was my second stay at Haus Kirchmaier, and it was just as good as before. Christian and Monika are approachable and always willing to help, and the service for guests is excellent. Pertisau gets expensive, especially in season when places are full, but Haus Kirchmaier is competitively priced. I was travelling alone for family reasons and mixing work with sport. They don’t have single rooms, but staying alone in a double room was comfortable and affordable. The rooms are all pleasant, though they vary in size. Some have extra room and a seating or work area, which I appreciated when I worked from my room during the day. There’s one family apartment, and Christian is planning to turn one of the smaller rooms into a family room this summer at an attractive price. You can have breakfast at the house, use the shared kitchen to make something quick in the afternoon, and store snacks or food in the communal fridge. I enjoy Pertisau in both seasons. In winter, I go cross-country skiing, and the tracks are accessible right from the house. It was unusually warm in January and February this year, and most of the village snow had melted by the time I left. Still, the two best tracks, Pletzach-Gern and Falzthurn-Gramai, stayed open every day despite the warmth. In summer, there are plenty of hiking trails nearby. If chilly water doesn’t put you off, you can swim in Achensee’s clear turquoise water and sunbathe, from June to August. Demand for Haus Kirchmaier is high in peak season, so book early. In early February I couldn’t get a family room for the end of July, but I booked another three weeks for next winter and will be back again. This was my eighth visit to Pertisau, and after trying other places too, Haus Kirchmaier is one of the few I want to return to again and again. Thank you!
