The warm dishes were a real letdown compared with the rest of the good quality. The risotto had no taste, the curry Dahl tasted bad, and the wild boar was dry and bland. I’m sorry to say it, but the kitchen should be able to do better to match the overall good impression. On the plus side, the hotel is lovely, the staff are nice, and it’s close to the cross-country ski trails with access to the public swimming pool and spa. Breakfast was super, and the evening salad buffet was good too.

We felt relaxed and at home during our stay at Marschner hotel. Everything and everyone were great, and the little bathrobes for the kids were such a cute touch. I was very happy with the experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families.

We had a wonderful stay, but the pull-out couch in the family room really needs improvement. The kids slept in the bedroom while we stayed up later in the living room, and we didn’t get any sleep during our stay.

We’ve stayed at this hotel three times now, and it’s rare that I can say I’ve seen it improve further, but I can here. Everything is tip-top: the willingness to help, the equipment, the kitchen and the location. Nothing to complain about.

We spent seven great days here, and the hotel has been renovated recently and is in really good shape. The rooms are spacious and well set up. After hiking, it was fun to use the tunnel straight to the local swimming pool. There are plenty of other things to do too, and the family hikes were some of the best we’ve done. The owners are really nice and make time to chat and give advice about the area. The service staff were extremely professional, five out of five. I can’t say enough good things about them. The food was very good, with a lot of effort put into the menu, though I think my teenage boys would have preferred pizza. Drinks cost extra, but that’s to be expected on vacation, and you should plan to spend some money. I’d definitely recommend Hotel Matschner!
