Our first meal in Salzburg was a hit. The schnitzel was tender and full of flavor under a crisp coating, easily better than the tough, leathery one we’d had at a fancy Vienna resto. We also had refreshing drinks, a spritz and local beer, plus grilled peppers with olive oil and a little salt. Highly recommended.

We were glad to find this place, near the city center but quiet enough to enjoy a meal away from the crowds. The food was fresh, carefully prepared, and well seasoned, and the service was attentive and great. They take cards and cash. If your card doesn’t work, tapping a credit card on your phone with NFC works much better in a lot of places. A phenomenal experience.

A little pricey, but we enjoyed lunch. The dessert was great, and the potato and leek soup, one of the daily specials, was a bit salty, so we asked for bread. We also ordered the deer schnitzel, another daily special. The portion was huge, enough to fill two of us sharing it. The potatoes alongside were especially good, creamy with a touch of acidity. We had Kaiserschmarrn too.

The veal schnitzel was fantastic, so tender with a very light, crisp breading. The potato salad was perfect, and that sauce was yummy. The mussels were nicely seasoned and cooked just right, and the fries were the best ever.

The atmosphere was great, and the restaurant felt very authentic. We had a fantastic meal with excellent service. It was our best meal by a long way, a must visit in Salzburg.
