Romantikhotel Gersbergalm

The location and Suite 205 were excellent, and being there with my family helped make the stay enjoyable. The room itself was very good, but it wasn't properly cleaned for two days in a row, even after I reported it to reception. The reception staff were welcoming and genuinely tried to help, but the issue seemed to be with housekeeping and never got resolved. Breakfast was particularly upsetting. One staff member behaved rudely and discriminatorily, making my family and me feel unwelcome and specifically pointing to Arabs as if they weren't welcome. We were told a table was “reserved” when we tried to sit there, but later found out no reservation existed. Nobody had told me breakfast tables could be reserved, and I wouldn't have expected that given how much we paid for the stay. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told the manager “might be sleeping,” and it seemed they were trying to stop me from escalating the issue. The room and location were excellent, but the inconsistent housekeeping and unacceptable breakfast treatment seriously affected our experience. Management should address this urgently.

The property is nice, clean, and tidy, and the other guests seemed really nice too. I didn't see any arguments between guests or staff. I was only here for one night, but it was a pleasant stay and seemed perfect for the snow. Thanks a lot. Personally, I'd describe the location as liminal.

The views from our room were amazing, and the hotel was extremely clean and romantic. It's a really neat, family-run place with true Austrian decor. Highly recommend.

We spent three nights just outside Salzburg and found it very comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant was high quality. A car is recommended, though, since the walk to the nearest bus is long and hilly. Wildlife fans might enjoy this too: we heard a tawny owl one night.
