Service was great, and the location was perfect.

We came for New Year's Eve and had a lovely, relaxing break. The mountain views from this fantastic location were stunning, and the rooms felt cozy and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and made to suit what we wanted. The hosts were especially kind and warm, unlike any I've experienced before. We'd definitely love to return.

For anyone wanting some peace and quiet, this is a beautiful place to stay. We spent one night at Alpengasthaus Sonnhof and felt welcome as soon as we arrived. The owners were so friendly and hospitable, and all our wishes were taken care of, including a cold platter when I asked for one with our lovingly prepared breakfast. Dinner had a great choice of traditional Austrian food, and the value for money was excellent. We'll gladly come back next time we're in Wolfsberg.

The food deserves a mention first: it was all homemade with local ingredients, and the owner and her cook made a wonderful range of savory and sweet dishes. The people were warm too, and unexpectedly played great music for my birthday. Benni, the resident dog, is a sweetheart as well. We spent a few days there in August 2025, starting a hiking trip before our holiday in Croatia. The setting is quiet, with fresh air, lovely views and plenty of parking. You can head out on shorter walks from the accommodation, including one to the waterfall, or go toward the ski area and radio tower. The ski area wasn't really our thing. The hosts are a lovely, worldly couple who run the property, along with other rentals on Lake Ossiach, as a hobby. We had great conversations about all sorts of things. They clearly own and offer something substantial, rather than just scamming people. The rooms are spotless and practical, though not luxurious. Each has a balcony and a bathroom with a shower, and the water pressure and temperature worked perfectly. The bed frames and mattresses could use some new purchases.
