Gasthaus Schwarzer Adler

We found cockroaches in the bathroom, which is unacceptable anywhere. After seeing that, we didn’t even want breakfast. The breakfast itself was among the worst we’ve had in years of travelling: no hot food in the morning, just some very hard cold boiled eggs and stale cereal. The host asked if we wanted scrambled eggs as we were leaving. That would have been nice, but after seeing cockroaches, I doubt anyone would want to eat there. As another review from around the same time mentioned, the entrance is through a gate at the back, where there’s a big table. The main doors are closed, and restaurant customers or local people were sitting there. They drank all evening and again in the morning, and had several dogs with them. Since we were travelling with our own dog, getting past them was stressful. Their dogs barked and jumped around, and nobody tried to hold them back. We never felt comfortable having to pass through that group every time. The host spoke a little English, but not enough for us to discuss the problems and inconveniences.
