The owners and staff made the stay special: everyone was professional but friendly, and we felt relaxed and well looked after. They all seemed to enjoy working there. We had fun practising our clunky German, though it wasn’t really needed since the staff all speak perfect English. The setting above the picturesque village is stunning, and we made great use of the horse-riding and cycling facilities to explore the local landscape and villages. We had a fantastic week at Martinerhof this summer. The hotel and spa were extremely clean and comfortable, and the meals and menus were fresh and delicious. We’d certainly visit again.
The children had plenty to do, and our granddaughter was especially happy with the ski lessons and pony rides. We grandparents enjoyed playing cards with them in the evenings. There really was something for everyone. We spent a lovely week with the whole family and were completely satisfied. The rooms were cozy, and the buffet had lots of choice. Being able to pour your own drinks was a hit, too. Add the childcare, pool, sauna, spa, and all the activities, and it made for a truly special family hotel. We'd love to return to the Martinerhof next year.
Mother Holle was on vacation, so we couldn't ski or sled straight out the door. Still, it was such a relaxed, welcoming place that we felt comfortable as soon as we arrived. Everyone was friendly and the service was attentive. The food was delicious from morning to night, though if you don't keep moving, you might gain a few pounds. Our son was so busy playing his Switch that it got completely covered in dust. The room, meanwhile, was spotless. A wonderful resort!
The mountain surroundings are stunning, with a nearby forest that's great for running and trails suited to cycling and Nordic walking. Alpacas, ponies, cows, and sheep add to the idyllic scene. It's a lovely place for a peaceful holiday, and I felt more like a welcome relative visiting family than a hotel guest. I highly recommend it. The staff were friendly, and all three small saunas were very clean. The indoor pool was big enough to swim lengths comfortably. Breakfast had a great range, from muesli to fried eggs, and the coffee was excellent and unlimited. Lunch didn't impress me much, with only two main courses to choose from. Dinner had to be ordered in advance and wasn't anything special either.
My younger son quickly became a fan of Farmer Hans, who let the boys go into the barn. You can see how much the family works on the property, with everyone pitching in, from the sons to the owner and his wife. The rooms were spotless and very rustic, which didn't bother me. I'm completely satisfied with our stay and glad to have found a place where the children are encouraged to treat things carefully and where everyone can feel comfortable. Hats off to the whole team! I could name several more things I liked. I think I've found a good deal for my boys, too, and the price-performance ratio is spot on. Thanks for a wonderful time! We stayed at the Martinerhof for six days with my two children, in a beautiful spot in St. Martin, a small village in the Tennengebirge mountains. There was always something to do: feeding rabbits, collecting chicken eggs, pony rides, e-motocross, go-karting, tennis, and plenty more. The family has thought through lots of details for families. The outdoor pool and large garden were fenced, and under the apple trees there were Bobby Cars and toy tractors. You could sit on the terrace without worrying, with a view of the great playgrounds. Even older children could play on their own. The big rabbit hutch and guinea pigs were always open to visitors. The friendly childcare deserves a mention, too. Eva did a fantastic job, and the children felt comfortable with her right away. When she wasn't out with them, you could visit them in the playroom, with its great climbing structure, or spend time there together. There were plenty of good food options and some special touches, though it wasn't Michelin-starred dining. Breakfast was great, with something for everyone and lots the children could serve themselves. There were nice extras, like waffle makers and pre-portioned batter so they could make fresh waffles. Lunch always included a main course and soup, plus toast and salad. Snacks and cake were available until 5:00 pm. In the evening there was a salad buffet, soup, and a children's meal they could serve themselves. The main course was served, with three dishes to choose from in the morning. There were always tasty options, including things like appetizers and salmon tartare. A wider cake selection might have been nice, but I liked that they tried not to let food go to waste, avoided the extreme overindulgence you find at many all-inclusive family places, and kept meals suitable for children. The wine was excellent!
