Hotel Vitalquelle Montafon

The kitchen was the highlight for me. The crew made creative, delicious food, and the portions left us full. Vegetarian choices could be better, but the rest was great. The hotel looks nice from outside and presents itself online as a 4* Superior, yet I found plenty that didn’t live up to that description or the price. I wouldn’t recommend it or return for another holiday. The rooms had no coffee machine or kettle. The wellness area felt old and much too small, with plastic deck chairs and too few loungers. There were no slippers, and the saunas weren’t advertised. Signs were scarce in general, so it wasn’t always clear where to go. The hotel seemed to be getting out of shape, and the price felt high for what was offered. At check-in, there was no information available at reception. The receptionist just told us to photograph a QR code and read everything on our phones. I’d rather have something printed to read while I’m away from work. A bus timetable in the room would also have made it easier to get back without using the car. The shuttle would be useful when it works, but the return ride we’d been promised wasn’t arranged. Staff could have paid more attention to guests. The website promises a lot, but aside from the food, I didn’t feel we got much. The most disappointing part came when we paid the remaining bill. The boss, I assume, didn’t ask how our stay had gone or whether we were satisfied. Not a word or a question. I found that shocking, and it left a bad impression. At other hotels, reception staff ask how the stay was and wish you a safe journey home. Nothing like that happened here.

We had a fantastic time and thought the stay was great value. The hosts were lovely, and both the food and spa were very good. They also catered for my gluten-free needs 😊. I’ll be back 👌

The food and wellness facilities were great, and the whole place had a lovely atmosphere.

Absolutely top-notch!
