Hotel Komperdell

The rooms are basic but clean. Reception, service, and location were perfect, so the price and quality are well balanced.

The location was the strongest part of my stay. The subway is about two minutes away, MPreis roughly four minutes on foot, and the cable car around ten minutes away. The hotel is central, and the ski storage room was fine. A lot else let me down. The garage clearance was confirmed by email as about 2.10 metres, but the exit was only 1.80 metres high, so I couldn't get my car in. There were only around four outdoor spaces and most were taken. In room 214, the heating failed on day three. The shower was either scalding hot or barely had any water pressure at a normal setting. I could shower by the pool instead. The room was very dated, with no safe, Do Not Disturb sign, drinking glass, or bottled water. Noise from neighbors showering, using the toilet, and coming and going carried clearly through the walls. Breakfast had very little variety: no fresh bread every day, just Kaiser rolls and one whole-grain roll, strawberry jam, hardly any fruit for muesli, mostly meat, one cheese, and scrambled eggs as the only hot option. The staff didn't speak German or the local language well enough, which made communication harder. Cleaning happened regularly, but it wasn't always thorough. Trash sat by the stairs for three days. The pool was colder than I like and its entrance area felt uninviting. The pool showers weren't clearly separated for men and women, and the curtains hung from a loose rod that fell with even a slight pull, which seemed unsafe. I'm very disappointed and wouldn't recommend the hotel.

Breakfast was a letdown: tables were cleared only now and then, the rolls were all pre-baked, and some cold cuts had dried out. The pool and sauna area also felt old and uninviting, while the rooms were basic and only just clean enough. The location is ideal, but it doesn't make up for all this. For what they charge, the value just isn't there. I'd expect a lot more.

The mattresses were far too hard, and at night you could hear the neighbors using the toilet. Room 214 also had a shower control that didn't work properly. Both the rooms and spa need renovation. Nearby, there's a subway station, bank, and supermarket, and parking is free for cars up to 1.9m. The staff were unfriendly and didn't speak German. Breakfast was limited, with stale rolls and very little meat or cheese. The pictures on the hotel's official website didn't match what was served: no strawberries, pancakes, blueberries, waffles, or bacon.
