Alpenapart Saphir

The TV had great English channels and the location was good. Having to pay for internet felt a bit scungy.

The apartments were nice and fresh.

The bus stop by the lift was handy, and it was free to ride, so getting to and from après ski was quick. The location itself is good, especially if you cross the bridge to reach the lift. But this apartment was advertised for three and had only one double bed plus a kitchen bench with no backrest. The cushion was about as thin as a garden chair pad, and sleeping on the kitchen seat left you feeling worse than before. It’s no way to rest if you plan to ski during the day, so a week here with three people would be disappointing. When I raised the issue, the landlord just said, “Yes, this is your bed, end of story.” The oven in the photo couldn’t be used either, and using it would mean losing a large part of the deposit as a fine, so baking rolls yourself wasn’t possible. The bathroom was fine and there were towels, but no toilet paper. Arriving on a Saturday evening without it was a real challenge. A decent apartment if you’re happy to rough it with your partner.

The apartments at Alpenapart Saphir were tastefully furnished, very clean and extremely well-equipped. There was plenty of parking, and the panoramic view was magnificent. It’s just a few minutes on foot to the cable car, with a top location in Sölden that’s still quiet. The landlords were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.
