Haus Mathias

The hosts made us feel at home straight away. Alpenheim Mathias was cozy, spotless, and had everything we needed, and we really enjoyed our three nights there. We'd happily return.

The owner was about as welcoming as a prison door, and the concierge @keyone wouldn't listen either, so avoid them. The supposed apartment was just dirty rooms (I have photos) with a shared kitchen and dining area. There wasn't a frying pan or any real cooking equipment, not even a fondue appliance. We ended up making eggs in a saucepan. For hotel pricing, you don't get what you'd expect. I've stayed in Austria before without any trouble, but this felt like a huge scam. If I could give zero stars, I would.

The rooms are spacious and clean, with a lovely view. Breakfast was more than enough, and you can even ask for soft-boiled eggs at no charge. Isabella has been wonderful and so helpful while we're staying at Mathias's place. We'll be back next year. Thanks, Isabella!

The house was so comfortable and clean, with everything we needed for a lovely week. There were six adults and five children in our group, and we all had a wonderful time. Five stars from us.
