Breakfast and dinner were both really good, better than we expected, and the facilities were good too, including a nice sauna. Similaun is easy to reach from the Sölden and Obergürgl ski areas. The owner and staff were extremely friendly, and the hotel had a family atmosphere that felt like home. We loved our stay and will definitely come back.

We’ve stayed here twice over the past year, and the meals were delicious both times. The family is very welcoming, and the new sauna area has a peaceful room where you can read or nap. A super hotel, highly recommended.

Vent is peaceful and a real treat for walkers. There’s a bus stop just outside the hotel for trips to livelier Sölden. We stayed in a huge, comfortable junior suite with a massive balcony. The food was excellent, served in a cosy, traditional dining room, and the staff were friendly and spoke very good English. Our only small complaint was that the towels were a bit small. We didn’t use the sauna, being British, but it looked luxurious. My son suggested the trip and the walk to the site where Ötzi the Iceman was discovered, as well as a visit to Bolzano/Bozen. We’ve been to Austria many times and were happy to return. We chose a good day for the walk: cool, with high clouds and clear conditions. My wife came with us as far as the Martin Busche hutte. I’d studied the route using both a paper map and the Kompass app, but the paths were easy to follow, with signs and Austrian flag markings on paths and rocks. Some even had Ötzi and an arrow painted on them. We found the Fundstelle (3210m) without trouble. I was thrilled to complete it. I’ve done some mountain walking in the UK, but nothing there reaches this altitude.
