A great spot to unwind.

The lake is only a 10-minute walk away, and Spittal is a quick drive. We had lots of room, the view was lovely, and the hosts were super friendly. It's a dream for kids. We'll definitely come back! 👍

The climb up by bike is pretty steep, though the view at the top makes up for it. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the host was kind, and the price felt fair.

Swimming is possible at Egelsee or along the southern shore of Lake Millstatt. The Wieser family's Mentebauer bed and breakfast in Grossegg is near Lake Millstatt, and Rothenthurn near Spital an der Drau is the best route to reach it. The guesthouse is a good choice for affordable, well-kept accommodation in Carinthia. It has a welcoming, rustic feel that works well for adults and families with several children. The rooms are tidy, most have several beds, including cribs, and animal lovers will enjoy seeing the cows, dog, cat, and rabbits.
