Holzlehenhof

We’ve spent summer and winter holidays in Austria for 40 years, though not every year, and the hospitality here is already exceptional. Birgit and Josef Hettegger somehow go well beyond that. On our second hiking holiday in their apartment, everything was clean and well maintained, and we lacked nothing. It’s just the right size for a family with one or two children. If anything had been missing, they would have sorted it out straight away. We were welcome to use the family barbecue, and they treated us more than once to homemade cake, freshly picked cherries, or homemade gin and tonic. In the evenings we played table football. Since football was involved, we skipped a Germany versus Austria match. We know it’s hard for Austrians to lose. The apartment in the alpine village near St. Johann im Pongau is wonderfully peaceful, with a magnificent view of the Tennengebirge mountains. It’s also an ideal base for exploring the Salzburg region. Tip: Salzburger Land Card. Thank you again, dear Birgit and Josef, and your lovely family, for such wonderful hospitality!

Dear Familie Hettegger, thanks so much for a wonderful holiday with you! The apartment was great and had everything we needed. We’d love to come back. See you soon!

We had a very pleasant hostess and a perfect stay. It’s a farmhouse setting with modern facilities and beautiful surroundings.

A truly one-of-a-kind place to stay!
