Camping Eichenwald

The toilets and other facilities were nice and clean, but the tent spot was really stony and the staff weren’t friendly. We paid 40€ for two people and a tent, then it was another 5€ to use the washing machine, 3€ for the dryer, and 0.50€ just to charge a phone to 20%. Having to pay for electricity for a phone on top of that felt pretty wild. I didn’t like it, hahah.

The bathrooms looked freshly renovated and were VERY nice. I also liked the stall-like showers, and there was a little pool too, worth trying. The staff were super friendly and even served beers late at night. Our night cost 37,5 € for two people in a tent with a car, which felt like a good price for the location. The one annoying thing was that they don’t take credit cards. Why? We would’ve spent a lot more in the store if we could have paid that way.

Deer graze just beyond the fence, and the mountain to the south makes for a great view. It’s a calm, lovely campsite with clean, good facilities and a restaurant. Prices are reasonable, and we had a really pleasant stay.

We paid 33,50 EUR a night for two people in August. In July and August there’s an extra 10,50 EUR per night for the camping pitch, which isn’t mentioned on the website. The price is charged per person and pitch, not by vehicle. The mountain views were nice, and the showers were good, with free hot water. There’s recycling and a swimming pool, plus a pool table and darts by the restaurant. On the downside, there’s no shared cooking area, and it’s a large, busy campsite.
