The balcony view of Schafberg was breathtaking, and being so close to the lake was a real bonus. I stayed by myself and found the apartment impressively spacious and very clean. The staff were friendly and happy to answer questions. I enjoyed it enough to plan another visit soon, and would recommend booking here for a holiday.
For two people, our room for two nights cost €250, which seemed perfectly fair to me. It was clean, well equipped, and centrally located, and the staff were friendly. I really can't make sense of the negative reviews. I'd happily stay here again.
I'd avoid this place, especially Daniela Girbl, who I found profoundly unfriendly and incompetent. The organic shop and apartments seem like a facade for cashing in on the eco trend, with nothing genuinely “sustainable” about them. Daniela Girbl appears to live in a fantasy world of conspiracy theories, anti-vaxxers and COVID deniers, and to sympathize with the right-wing nationalist “Heimat” (homeland) ideology. Conflict seems almost guaranteed if you enter the shop or stay in one of the apartments. Awful experience.
The owner gave us great excursion tips, and the service was friendly. The apartment was lovely, with first-rate amenities, and breakfast was fantastic with excellent coffee. Everything was perfect.
Unfortunately, the place was quite dirty. We found white stains on the bed linen too. Disgusting! 🦠🤢
