The apartment was spacious, and the location and scenery were really beautiful. Still, we felt uncomfortable and found the place too expensive, especially with no breakfast included. The shower seemed old, and the mattress wasn't comfortable for us. My girlfriend and I had hoped for a few relaxing days, but the stay became stressful from the beginning. We decided to leave the next day and move elsewhere. We'd never expected this in the otherwise lovely Tannheimer Valley, and hope other travelers don't have the same experience. We had called in the afternoon to say we'd arrive after 6:30 p.m. On the phone, we were told we couldn't carry our own luggage to the room. We weren't sure we'd heard correctly, but that was confirmed when we arrived. We were also only allowed into the rooms in slippers, a rule not mentioned in the Booking.com listing. We don't usually wear slippers and hadn't brought any, and none were provided. Visitors weren't allowed in the middle-sized apartment, whether they were from outside or staying elsewhere in the building. That restriction added to how limited we felt. The house rules seemed to be enforced very strictly and forcefully. We were threatened with police involvement several times for not following certain rules, which upset us a lot. We felt the behavior was inappropriate.

After years of traveling, we'd never had such an unpleasant stay. The landlady's conduct felt unacceptable to us, and in the end we couldn't put up with it, so we left early. The rules seemed numerous and disproportionate, and they weren't clearly explained in the listing. We also found the way they were enforced unwelcoming and inappropriate. Visitors were forbidden, and after a short visit the police were called.

The kitchen had everything I needed apart from an oven, which wasn't a big deal, and the apartment was huge with a fantastic mountain view from the balcony. I was welcomed so warmly when I arrived, and I had several lovely days there, sleeping well in a comfortable bed and enjoying pleasant chats with my landlady. I also got into a difficult situation with a local paragliding instructor, who had banned me from flying. My landlady and her daughter stepped in to help, and after a few phone calls I was allowed to fly again. Thank you so much! I'll definitely recommend you.

The place was quiet, and the landlords were very friendly. You can set off on hikes nearby, though having a car is highly recommended and parking is available. Given the shortcomings, the price is still acceptable.
