For a simple overnight stay surrounded by beautiful nature, this worked well. Our room was clean and near the main road, with free parking in front of the house, and the owner was helpful and quick to respond. The prices are low, but we only had a room and bathroom with toilet, no kitchen. We stayed in Fierienwohnung Alpklang for a night while visiting Salzburg and Hallstatt.

For the price, it’s great: lots of space, everything clean, and even a steam room.

The garden’s play area was a hit with all five of our kids, ages 1 to 13. The house itself was lovingly furnished and had a fully equipped kitchen, and we spent four nights at the Alpklang guesthouse. We got a very warm welcome, and the owner was around for tips on outings and nice conversations. It’s a dream area for families, with a wildlife park and trails that work well with strollers, but also a lovely place if you just want some mountain peace. We’d love to come back!
