Fertschey Pension

A peaceful, well-kept garden and a balcony make it easy to relax with a book, even though the town center is only a few minutes away. The apartment was great, the staff were very friendly, and breakfast had a good selection. There was plenty of room to park our motorcycle, car, and trailer. I'd gladly stay here again :)

We'd stayed at the Fertschey guesthouse before as a group of five, and everything had been fine. This time I tried to book again, but was refused because one person in our group wasn't vaccinated against Corona. I was asked about everyone's vaccination status, then told we couldn't stay. Everyone is suffering through Corona, not just you, Mrs. ......!!!! I can't understand being treated this way over someone's vaccination status.

The apartments and rooms were clean, and the breakfast and cleaning staff were excellent. The rest of the experience was difficult: the owner was unreliable and wouldn't accept criticism, so booking, getting the right room size, and sorting things out beforehand were all a struggle. Folding beds and extra beds cost as much per night as single or double rooms, which is outrageous. At checkout, when we asked for proper invoices, we got handwritten notes with no reference to the guesthouse. This place has a lot of potential if someone manages reservations well and sets fair prices.

I can't review a stay I never got to have. I only wanted to book a weekend, but was spoken to as if I were an idiot: “if you could think, you'd understand that.” There seemed to be plenty of rooms, but in peak season they're apparently waiting for “better-paying customers.” Austrian tourism???
