Breakfast had a huge range of products, and the little shop for drinks and snacks came in handy. I enjoyed my one-night stay: the rooms were large, clean, and well equipped. Basement parking was convenient too, at €18 per day.

The breakfast had plenty to choose from, though it was the same every day. The hotel staff seemed tired and stressed, with no smiles to share. We were given a voucher for a welcome drink, but only found out after ordering that it covered non-alcoholic drinks. Nobody had told us. The bartender said this wasn't the first time reception had failed to explain what the voucher included, and that they'd asked reception several times to make clear it didn't cover alcohol. I'll never come back. The whole New Year was ruined. We stayed three nights over New Year. We always check for bed bugs and saw no signs, but the room had a strange smell that we thought might be from the carpets. On the first night I felt ants crawling on me in bed and managed to crush one on my breast. The next morning I saw 10-15 small bugs crawling in the bathroom. We also had trouble with the room key. After we complained, we were moved to a room that smelled of smoke. Then the hotel offered us a smaller room, saying it was the only one they had.

We were able to reach Vienna's main attractions easily by tram or on foot, while staying in a peaceful spot just beyond the busy centre. The hotel has a calm, welcoming feel, with a special charm that made us feel both at home and pampered. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and spotless, with a very comfortable bed and a modern, elegant bathroom. Breakfast was a highlight, with a delicious range of fresh food, nicely presented in a pleasant, elegant room. The staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help throughout our stay. The staff we met were great, and if you need more room, the Jr suites are the way to go. Transit options right outside made the decent location easy to work with. We had a great stay, though I'd call the hotel an 'almost' there: the place was good, but the rooms felt quite dated.
