Doubletree by Hilton Vienna Schonbrunn

The staff member who checked me in was really helpful, and I appreciated the free cookie. I also liked having a gym open around the clock. The sauna and steam room were great, though their opening hours felt quite limited. A park beside the hotel is nice for a walk, and trams and buses are easy to reach across the street. The train station is about a 10-minute walk away. Breakfast didn't offer much variety, which I found limiting.

We were welcomed with two bottles of water and two warm, delicious cookies, and the staff made check-in feel nice. Our standard double room was spacious, with a very big, soft, comfortable bed. You also need to scan your room key to use the elevator going up, which felt very safe. Breakfast had loads of options and was really tasty, easily 100000/10. For Christmas market season, this felt like a great choice. The hotel is 4 km from the city center, but the tram stop is 150 m away, and the metro and bus stations are each 750 m away. You can get a 24/48 h ticket on WienMobil. Parking at the hotel was almost 30 euros a day, which is too expensive. Park and ride is a good option at 8 euros a day if you only have a suitcase, since you leave the car and take public transport to the hotel. I recommend repark garage Längenfeldgasse. Public transport is usually just a few minutes' walk away. This hotel deserves its five stars 😊

We had some issues, and when I shared that feedback, reception manager Mia listened and took it on board. The hotel only has a breakfast restaurant and a small bar, with a limited choice of bar snacks for dinner, and the reception felt very cold. Aurelia welcomed us, got us checked in quickly, and explained the hotel and our room. The warm cookie she gave us was delicious, thanks Aurelia, 10/10. We also enjoyed the sauna and relaxation area, especially with how freezing it was outside. The beds were really comfortable. Schronbrunn palace is right nearby, with trams just outside and the technology & transport museum next door. We used local food delivery service Volt, which worked well.

We had a lovely room and a pleasant stay. Breakfast had plenty of variety, and we especially liked the pancake machine. The hotel is a good base: Schloss Schönbrunn is about a 10-minute walk away, while Stephansdom city center takes around 25 minutes by metro or tram. Parking costs €29 per day, which we felt was quite high for hotel guests, so 4 out of 5 stars.
