NH Wien City

The room was so spacious it felt almost like an apartment, and the location on Mariahilfer Straße was ideal. The nearest subway station is a two-minute walk away, the 1st district is about a ten-minute walk, and Stephansplatz is three subway stops away. I usually stay with NH Hotels because I value the quality and good value for money, and NH Wien City lived up to the positive experiences I’ve had with the chain. Everything was perfect, as usual.

We were three people, and the hotel was about a ten-minute walk from the center. The rooms were really clean, and the employees were friendly and made an effort to make us happy. We felt more comfortable than we have in a hotel for a long time and had an amazing time! Thank you so much, Hotel NH Wien City.

The small market beside the hotel isn’t run by the hotel, but it has basics from toothpaste and toothbrushes to beer. It only takes cards. There’s a metro station right next door and a big supermarket a block away. If you’re leaving before breakfast, ask the day before and they’ll prepare a meal for you, available around the clock. The reception can give you a card with the address to show a taxi. The breakfast buffet was international, with food replenished whenever something was running low or out. My only gripe was that the glasses were too small and uncomfortable to use. The sauna is available if you notify them 30 minutes ahead. Staff were consistently kind, helpful, and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable, with good lighting, and the towels were a good size and in perfect condition. The shower kept water from spreading across the floor.

In April 2026 there was no AC, despite it being around 16-20°C outside. I was told it was out of season and to open the window, but the room got extremely hot with the sun shining on it. The bathroom also had no ventilation. To reach reception from the shopping street, you have to cross a dirty mall where people smoked in the corridors, and there were occasionally drunk people slumped on the steps, even early in the morning. The rooms are decaying as well as dated, with stains of unknown origin, rust, and dirt embedded in them. The cleaners had clearly done a great job, but those problems can’t be fixed by cleaning. I can’t see how this could be considered a four-star hotel. I was extremely disappointed and strongly advise people not to stay. Look critically at the official room photos.
