Novotel Wien City

The hotel shows its age in a few small ways, but the staff more than made up for that by going out of their way to make the stay pleasant. Boldi was especially helpful and made a real difference to our visit. It’s also in a fantastic area, with easy access to the metro and the city center. I’d highly recommend it for the service.

The location is good, though you need public transport to reach the center. The rooms were clean thanks to a good housekeeping team, but I found the hotel very stingy. They provide shampoo and soap, and little else. You even have to get drinking water from the shower, and ask for everything, slippers included. There also didn’t seem to be enough staff to run the place. Breakfast was average, with a limited menu that kept repeating. With the staff shortage, you have to make your own waffles and pancakes. I’m not joking, you really have to do it yourself. It wasn’t all bad, but I won’t stay with the Novotel brand again.

Whenever I’m in Wien, I choose this hotel. It’s easy to reach from the airport, close to Vienna’s main sights, and set in a quiet area. I sleep really well in the rooms. Highly recommend.

Only stayed two days, and honestly I’d give it two stars, but I don’t want them going out of business, I guess. Good luck figuring out the showers. The beds and TV are good, though there isn’t much room to charge things. The breakfast is what saves the place. Best bread and bacon here, for real.
