Renaissance Vienna Imperial Riding School

The team made my birthday stay feel special. They prepared my room with flowers and exactly the decorations I had asked for, and I can't thank them enough. The hotel is beautifully designed, with modern, stunning interiors. My room was new and very clean, the service was excellent, and the restaurants were outstanding. I'd highly recommend staying here when visiting Vienna! 🤍

The restaurant was the weak point for me. Breakfast was fine, but I had lunch there twice and neither meal was great. It was pricey, the food wasn't very good, and the service wasn't either. The hotel itself is beautiful, modern and fairly new, outside downtown Vienna and away from the main tourist path. My room was clean and lovely, the windows open, and I was upgraded to a Jr Suite, which was nice. We mostly walked to the city center to see the sights. It's about 25-30 minutes on foot to the center and shopping district, day or night. An Uber costs around 12€, or the train right beside the hotel is about 4€ per ride. We also walked 15 minutes to a great Italian restaurant.

Sophia at the front desk was especially friendly, helpful and professional. She made check-in feel smooth and welcoming. I enjoyed the pleasant, relaxing surroundings and convenient location. The Imperial Riding School, Autograph Collection has a distinctive historic feel while still being comfortable and modern. It was a good stay, and I'd consider coming back to Vienna.

The buffet breakfast was superb, both in quality and choice. As our tour group moved on to other cities, we agreed this hotel had the best comfort, breakfast, service and location. My only gripe was the tea supply: there weren't enough teabags in the room for two days, so I had to ask the obliging bar staff for more in the evening. I enjoyed my two-night stay in mid December 2025 with a popular bourgeoisie tour group, in ground-floor rooms past reception. The name's grand imperial mouthful made even this humble plebeian from Melbourne, Australia, yup, the one with kangaroos, feel royally welcome in the entry foyer! The building was once a 19th-century military equestrian riding school, later a cinema, before becoming a hotel with links to its cavalry past. There are horse statues and themed names around the complex. Belvedere Palace and gardens are a 15-minute walk away, and train and tram connections are close. The hotel has a really good bar and restaurant, with other takeout and dine-in places, eateries and shops nearby. Rooms are spacious, though the bath and toilet can feel cramped depending on what you booked. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the heating was easy to adjust. Wien has far more culture and history than I could see in two days, so I'll definitely have to return. I hope to stay here again. ✨️✨
