The private spa was romantic, relaxing, and immaculately clean. We’ve just come back from a long weekend at Hotel Gerl, and the attentive, friendly staff made the stay feel special. There’s real attention to detail and a sense of what guests need, which is rare at most hotels. The food and service were fantastic, and the infinity pool has stunning mountain views. It was just the wellness break we needed to beat the January blues. Thank you, Hotel Gerl.

This works well for the price and location, with Salzburg nearby, onsite parking, a decent breakfast, and an indoor pool that stays open late. The room view was just a random tall bush, and the basic room is extremely tiny, with almost no room to stretch. It’s really only suitable if you just need to sleep before exploring Salzburg. Parking was very tight, with what felt like 20 spaces for 40 rooms, and there were almost no open spots. The Wi-Fi in our room was so weak that you had to stand by the entrance door. The indoor pool was loud, with poor acoustics, and the spa area is next to it, so it was hard to relax. We also paid 6 Euros for flip flops, which felt pretty weird these days.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Gerl and would definitely come back. The staff were welcoming, kind, and helpful throughout. Special thanks to Victoria for helping us plan day trips to Hallstatt and explore the city. Taxis can be tricky to get, but reception is happy to arrange one for you.

I stayed over Easter with my mum and sister. The hotel is beautiful, the facilities are first class, and the pools are amazing. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful.

I've lived in Salzburg for a year and can't believe this was my first visit to Hotel Gerl. I was surprised by how impressed I was. The steak was one of the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and melting in my mouth. From the moment I walked in, the place felt right: beautiful, cozy, and relaxing. The service was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. It's rare to find the food, atmosphere, and hospitality coming together so well. I can't wait to return!
