The views in this area are spectacular, but the service from the host was very poor. Prices were hotel level or higher, yet there was no soap, shampoo, or towel change. They gave us different, cheaper rooms than the ones we'd reserved, while charging the same price. It was a nightmare, and the combination of poor service and dishonesty means I absolutely don't recommend this place.

We visited in summer. The countryside and views were spectacular, but I can't say the same for the host. We paid a price like you'd expect at a good hotel, but our reserved apart studio was replaced with a different unit they'd advertised at a lower price. To me, that's dishonest. There was no service for the whole week and we had the same towels throughout. The rooms lacked basics like soap, let alone shampoo. Breakfast was included, but practically identical every morning for a week. The management's attitude made me suspect xenophobia, aside from when they charged us without providing the service we'd paid for. Maybe that's why Germans and Austrians like the place. Given all these problems, I can't objectively explain that. The final issue was the checkout bill: they wouldn't provide it, because they knew they'd overcharged us. It was too bad about the surroundings; it was hard to enjoy them with the host acting like that.

The room was spotless and modern, but still had that rural Austrian feel. It came across as a family-run place, and we felt genuinely welcome.

The accommodation looks much better in the photos than it does in person. Also, the landlady doesn't speak English.
