There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, and the train station is close. The room was a great size, with good blackout blinds and curtains. One thing that confused me was the light from the bathroom coming into the room at sunrise. Reception closes early, but they give you a door entry code. I’d stay here again.

The breakfast was extremely poor: ham and cheese that seemed well past their best, nothing warm, and bad coffee. The corridor smelled like a hospital. The hotel feels stuck in the 80s. You enter the room straight into a bathroom in the hallway, and the room itself has only the bare minimum, with a little fridge by the wall and a small table. Hostels have better interiors these days. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Two stars don’t feel deserved.

The breakfast was so bad, and some TV channels don’t even work. Worst hotel ever. Avoid it and book somewhere better.

What bothered me was the smoke and noise coming from the pub behind the hotel when I left the window open. Otherwise, breakfast was good, even if it got a little repetitive. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were quite decent, with a kettle and minibar. There’s also a shared room with laundry facilities, a microwave, cooker and fridge freezer.
