Hotel Gerhardhof by ami

We spent two nights here on our way to Italy and really enjoyed it. The hotel rooms were spacious, had lovely decorative touches, and came with a pleasant balcony for relaxing. It’s a great area for outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, and archery. We stayed in the hotel, though the luxury tents by the swimming pond looked cosy and impressive too. Travelling with a dog, we especially appreciated the thoughtful dog wash. A lovely option for a stopover or a longer mountain holiday.

We booked through Booking.com at 8 pm on the day we arrived. The booking was confirmed and paid for, but we received no check-in instructions. When we got there around 11 pm, we couldn’t get inside and had to sleep in our car in near-freezing weather. It badly affected our vacation. The next day, someone from reception, Philipp, called to apologize. They offered a refund for the first night and a 15% discount for the other two days, plus two beers and two wines. We told them that wasn’t good enough. The staff member said they would discuss it with the manager, but never got back to us. Three weeks have passed, and they still owe us at least the first night’s payment. It seems they’re hoping we’ll forget about it. The mountain setting was fantastic, and check-in using the key safe was easy. Our room was stylishly furnished and spotless, and the staff were very friendly.

The rooms are modern and sparsely furnished. The views are stunning, and it’s very quiet.
