It felt a bit like a retreat, and the staff were excellent across the board. The restaurant waiter downstairs was especially good, I couldn’t find a thing to fault about him. We only stayed a few days, but it was a wonderful time. Walking to our room, you could smell the wood, and seeing the ice caps on the mountains in the middle of summer was something else. The place is right on the border with Germany.

The room was very spacious, and check-in was quick, but when we arrived the door was open and there were wet, dirty towels on the sofa and bed. We couldn’t find anyone at reception when we went looking. We mentioned it at checkout, and the bed covers were wet from the towels too, which wasn’t pleasant. There were two glasses and a carafe in the room but no water, so I don’t understand why they provide those without water. The window by our small terrace was very dirty, and noise from other rooms carried clearly into ours. The shower could use more pressure. We spent an hour alone in the wellness area downstairs and found it relaxing after a long drive, so I’d suggest giving it a try. Dinner was cheap and good. Breakfast was basic but good.

Breakfast was good, and the cable car tickets were a nice inclusion. The indoor pool, jacuzzi, and children’s pool were all very nice.

The location is beautiful, and both the staff and accommodation were good. I would have liked a larger TV and better control over the shower temperature.
