Campingdorf Hofer

The panorama pitch was the best part of our stay, with a genuinely beautiful view. The facilities were decent, but it was hard to relax here. There were loud children all over, especially in the packed pool. On a day over 30°C, my partner and I wanted to swim, but kids of all ages, including several wearing diapers, were shouting and screaming. The pool door asks guests to keep noise down and respect others, but that wasn't happening. The bathrooms were busy too, since pool users were all using them, so even taking a shower was difficult. Our Dutch neighbors also argued loudly, adding to the noise. Families may enjoy this campsite, but if you want a peaceful, relaxing break, I'd pick somewhere else.

The site is beautifully kept and in a wonderful location, with clean, modern facilities that include a pool and a new children's play area. The hosts were absolutely perfect, so welcoming that we felt more like friends than guests.

We've been coming here for over 20 years and have always had a lovely welcome and a great time. Campingdorf Hofer is our favourite campsite in our favourite Alpine valley, and we've only visited in summer. There are endless ways to hike and cycle, and the local activity card is great value, with unlimited lifts, buses and trains, plus the terrific Zell swimming park. Since we're getting older and it's such a long trip from Northern Scotland, this may have been our last visit. We've got wonderful memories.

Eight years running, and they're still kind and helpful every time. They never let us down.
