A good spot for a big group to stay.
The gardens and grounds were looking lovely, and all the rooms were in great shape. We came back for a second stay, this time with 25 friends for a 50th. It worked perfectly, with loads of space, really comfortable, and everything we could need. We'll have to come up with another reason for a big get-together so we can return.
We had lovely weather for our joint 60th and 30th birthday celebration at Abernathy House a couple of weeks ago, so we could enjoy the beer garden and grounds too. There were 30 of us, with each couple in their own room and the singles sharing bunks. The restored bedrooms were beautiful and the beds were super comfy. We catered for ourselves and couldn't fault the kitchen, which had everything we could think of. The accommodation and atmosphere made us so happy. Loved it and will definitely be back! 🤩
Even with the house full, it was easy to find a quiet spot to yourself, and there are plenty of places to spread out. We had the whole house for the weekend, with enough room for 20 people. The facilities were good and it was a pleasure to stay. The kitchen isn't commercial, but it should do the job.
It used to be a pub and is now a B&B. The pool's nice, the area is neat and tidy, and there's ample parking. In my opinion, though, it was definitely on the expensive side. It works well for a big function, reception, or even a corporate getaway. What a lovely old place.
