Comfort Inn on Marion

The property and rooms were very underwhelming. My room had no separate bathroom, so I had to go through a bedroom to use a tiny ensuite with a sliding door. There was no privacy when sharing with someone else. It’s a bad design.

The gardens and pool were lovely, parking was secure, and the motel grounds felt secure too. Inside, everything was very clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water in the shower. The bathroom tiles could use an update. My stay was good overall, except the neighbours in the apartment above were inconsiderate and noisy until late at night.

I understand there’s a cancellation policy, but I was disappointed that the manager wouldn’t make an exception or refund me after I called to explain what had happened. My three-year-old son took a rapid turn for the worse after surgery, and we were being discharged at 10. I couldn’t help what he was going through. I’d give zero for empathy if I could. “Disappointed” is an understatement.

The upstairs rooms work well for kids, with a safety gate, and the staff were lovely and helpful. When our kettle stopped working late one evening, we left reception a message and a replacement arrived less than 15 minutes later. It’s a nice little place in a good location, easy to reach by bus, with decent parking if you’re driving.
