Franklin Apartments

The receptionist wasn't helpful and maybe needs better training. Then the Asian woman who called herself a manager accused me of being racist and asked why I kept going in and out. I explained that I'm a smoker and had to go outside because the room was non-smoking. She still couldn't understand why I needed to come down from level4 to the ground floor to smoke, and apparently thought I was suspicious.

The pillowcase had a strong sweaty smell, as though it hadn't been changed after the previous guest. It looked like the bed had just been remade instead of properly changed. The towel that was meant to be fresh had visible brown stains, which was unpleasant and unhygienic. I took a photo, but couldn't attach it here. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness at Franklin Apartments in Adelaide and don't plan to return.

The bedroom backed onto a hallway, so with the window open I could hear everything all night, including noise from the next room. The bed was horribly uncomfortable, and the glasses and cutlery were dirty. The furniture was old, there was no view, and even the bedside table lights had something on them. The room was stuffy with no airflow, fan, or aircon, and smelled musty enough that I had to spray perfume to sleep. I felt like I couldn't breathe. We had prepaid for six nights, and if I'd known, I'd have booked somewhere else.

We were in an Airbnb, not a serviced apartment, and the space was okay for what we needed. The first night was really cold, though, and there weren't any spare blankets. I had to ask for some.
