Morphettville Motor Inn

Morphettville Inn made my Adelaide trip worthwhile. I've been to hundreds of hotels and motels around Australia, but this place is on another level: calm, clean, organised, and most amazing of all, affordable. I'd love to come back again and again. Thanks!

The only good part was how easy it was to get public transport into the city. The noise, though, made it hard to sleep properly. I could hear everything happening in the room next door, and it never felt like I was in my own room. If you're planning to stay, I'd seriously invest in earplugs. I booked here because it was cheaper than other places, but had I known how noisy it would be, I would've paid more to stay somewhere else. Also, through booking.com I added an extra adult, which brought the price to $351 after a $39 deal discount from what would've been $390. I was still told only 1 adult was allowed and not to use the second bed. I'm not usually one to leave a long bad review, but I can't believe I stayed here.

Lovely modern, clean rooms and a great pool. It was nice to find somewhere that allows a dog, and I'd recommend staying here. The (Asian) lady at the front desk seemed pretty rude, though.

After a 3.5-hour drive with my wife, toddler and child, we arrived at 7:20 PM, and were told the 3 PM checkout we'd arranged was "impossible" and "ridiculous." We'd planned around resting after an early airport run with two elderly guests and the kids, before our 3 PM next check-in. Instead, at 7:30 PM we were told to leave by 11 AM, later "generously" extended to 11:30 AM. With a toddler and a 3year old, that left us shocked, embarrassed and scrambling to redo everything at the last minute. The elderly lady, who seemed to be the owner or manager, was condescending, unprofessional and outright hostile. She argued that the $159 rate didn't cover extras, though that's why I'd called to confirm. I'd followed their process exactly, but she treated us like nuisances and put their convenience first. Avoid if you need reliability or basic courtesy. Plenty of other motels near the airport won't pull this bait-and-switch. I've attached screenshots of my booking note and phone log as proof. 1 star, and that's generous. I booked Morphettville Motor Inn near Adelaide Airport specifically for a 3 PM checkout on February 18, 2026, after a Google search highlighted it as an option for extended stays and said to call to confirm. On February 10, a week ahead, I spoke to a staff member for over 2 minutes and explained that we needed to check in late, around 7 PM on the 17th, and leave at 3 PM the next day because of an early airport pickup for elderly family members. She said it was fine, encouraged me to book directly on their site for a better rate, and asked me to put the request in special notes. I wrote: "We are coming in late on the 17th (20.00) and wanting to check out on the 18th at around 3.00pm. I have spoken over the phone." As we unloaded our luggage, the elderly lady confronted me aggressively. She said no one stays past 11 AM, dismissed my note despite admitting she'd seen it, and said she ignored it because "no one checks out at 3 PM." When I showed her the booking confirmation and my phone log, she implied I was lying. She defended the staff member, who'd worked there "decades," saying she would never agree to it or must be "out of her mind" if she had. She also mentioned another booking the next day needed the room cleaned early, but wouldn't honour my confirmed request. This experience was a nightmare.
