The owners were kind and helpful, and the staff checked in each day to see if we needed tea or coffee and to take away the rubbish. The hotel felt clean and welcoming. Thanks so much.

The bed was comfortable, but the room wasn’t very clean. During the night, sewer water leaked from the toilet onto the floor, leaving a sticky mess we stepped in. There was already a container behind the toilet, which made us think they knew about the leak. When my husband told management in the morning, they yelled at him. We’ll report the motel to nsw fair trading. This was room19 @ Meramie Motor Inn Albury, and we have photos and video of the leaking toilet. The motel’s nasty replies to criticism in reviews also say a lot about how it handles feedback. The place was filthy, and the way we were treated felt lazy and disrespectful to paying guests.

The room was quiet, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a good TV, plenty of space, and a small kitchenette for tea, coffee, or simple meals. After-hours check-in was easy too. With more attention to cleanliness, this could be a lovely place for a night or two. The dated decor didn’t bother me, but the cleaning did. I had to wash every piece of crockery and cutlery before using it. The glasses were greasy, the dinner plate had dried-on food, and the inside of the microwave was splattered and clearly hadn’t been cleaned recently. Dust had built up in less obvious spots too, including the floor lamp base by the window and the power point behind the couch. The toilet didn’t flush properly, and the clean tea towel was faded and marked with bleach.

The kitchenette was handy, and there was plenty of space in the room. I stayed four nights on a work trip and had a really positive experience. The owners were fantastic and accommodating, and the air conditioning was great. Thanks for a lovely stay.
