I had a bad experience here on Thursday. Michael, the bartender, was rude to us the whole time he served a couple of beers for me and my girlfriend. When she called him out, he took her drink, poured it out and wouldn't refund me. They tried to kick her out while asking me to stay and finish my drink. I handed it over and asked for the manager. The manager refunded only my drink, saying they couldn't refund my girlfriend's because of her behaviour, though she did nothing. I won't be back. Most of the bar staff are okay, but Michael is rude and racist to every customer, and I've seen them treat a lot of Indigenous patrons the same way. Update: that bartender now refuses to serve us when we go in, even though we're not banned.

It was an iconic place, but now it's an empty shell, and good luck getting the locals back. It used to be great for dinner specials, and so handy to eat before or after the movies. The new owners have ruined it, and they don't serve food at all anymore. I've given it an extra star because it has pool tables. What a dump.

We were visiting from Melbourne and really enjoyed our meal at the tavern bistro. The rump and scotch fillet were cooked exactly as we asked, and the salad with balsamic and the vegetables with sauce were delicious. The staff were great and were happy to move us to a seat by a television so we could watch the cricket.

These are the best chips I've ever had at a restaurant or fish and chip shop. They're proper, hand-cut chips, cooked just right, and as good as the ones I make myself. Go here for the best chips you'll eat!
