Atherton Holiday Park

The two-bedroom hut was huge, very clean, and fully equipped. They even provide a rice cooker. The camping kitchen is quite small and basic, with one little table and a BBQ, so it would be nice if it were bigger. The pool is more like a dipping hole, but it’s refreshing if you need a quick cool-off. Great caravan park for renting a hut.

We had an awesome stay at Atherton Tourist Park and really enjoyed our time there. It’s a wonderful park, and the staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. Thanks to them all, we’ll definitely be back ♥️

The grounds are nicely maintained, and the staff are very helpful. It’s quiet, out of town, spacious and well priced. The cabins have only basic fittings, though: our two-bedroom cabin had just one towel rail, and the kitchen pots and pans were very basic. The skirting boards also need a thorough clean.

We came back each day to somewhere quiet and peaceful after visiting the busy tourist spots, and the park itself had no road noise. There’s plenty for kids to do, with play areas, flat concrete roads for bikes and skateboards, and space for hopscotch, tennis and handball. The dog-friendly park is well maintained, with clean amenities, shaded tent and campervan sites, and grassy caravan sites that aren’t packed in. Our July 2025 booking was for a two-bedroom cabin. The owner was helpful when we arrived and handed us the key to cabin 22. It turned out to be a lovely, spacious townhouse with a big carport and a covered outdoor area with modern table and chairs. The doors and windows slid smoothly, the modern curtains reached the floor, and the tiled floors were spotless. In the lounge and dining area there was modern air conditioning and a ceiling fan, plus a comfortable lounge, coffee table and big-screen TV. The modern kitchen had all the appliances and utensils we needed, including a non-stick pan, electric frypan, family-sized fridge and four-burner gas stove. The main bedroom had a comfortable double bed, bedside tables, a tall cupboard, a good-sized bench top, small TV, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The second bedroom had two single beds and a fan, but no cupboard. The bathroom was clean and the water was hot, though the pressure was low. There were fire alarms and an up-to-date fire blanket. There’s so much more to see in the Table Lands, and I’ve mentioned some places we visited in the food and drinks section. This park may not have the river views at Reflections Evans Head or the beach at the Discovery Park Emerald Beach, but it gave us a much more peaceful experience.
