The bunk was surprisingly comfortable, and the shared kitchen was clean with bathrooms kept in good shape. Our budget room at "Horseshoe Lodge" was warm and clean, check-in was quick, and communication was smooth. Reception also helped with all our phone questions. Just bear in mind it’s a long way from Jindabyne and other facilities.

I’m asking for a full refund and to speak with a senior staff member. I’ve never had such a bad customer service experience. I was polite and respectful, and wasn’t abusive or harassing, but Jan kept calling me “mate” aggressively and hanging up when I asked if anyone else could help. She said she would cancel my booking, then claimed I was abusive when I asked why, even though I hadn’t given her a reason to do that. I’ve tried repeatedly to get through by phone and ask for assistance. Jan at reception has hung up on me more than eight times and refused to speak with me. She was rude and unprofessional when I asked why she was being unfriendly. The people answering the phone don’t seem to understand that customers may have questions or need help.

The staff made us feel welcome the whole time, and the bistro had a lovely atmosphere with its low music and fire. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment for a snow weekend after booking a room at short notice, then a friend decided to join us. They couldn’t provide another room with an extra bed, but moved us to the apartment and reduced the price to keep it within our budget. At check-in, the receptionist was lovely and clearly explained how to find the apartment and what to do when leaving. We had dinner at the bistro both nights, and the meals were great. The first night, everyone ordered something different and all the food arrived together. My husband, who’s hard to please about steak, was thrilled with how perfectly his was cooked. It was a little expensive, but the food made it feel worthwhile. We called half an hour before closing the next night to pre-order, and they were happy to accommodate us. My steak came out more well done than medium rare, which was a little disappointing, though still delicious. We stayed 15 minutes past closing and the staff remained delightful. Every staff member we met was friendly and welcoming. The resort is 40 minutes from the ski tube, but worth the time, money, and stay. My husband and I have already decided to return next time we go to the snow. Thanks to the staff for the service, food, and making us feel so comfortable. See you soon!

The main building at JE resort has been fantastic during my stay. It’s got a lovely country feel, with picturesque views around the property if you fancy a bush walk. The facilities were spotless and the staff welcoming and lovely. Jindabyne is just a 15-minute drive away, and Perisher carpark takes 37 minutes to reach. I’d highly recommend it for an affordable country escape from the business of Jindabyne town. The negative reviews below seem like slander, so please ignore them.
