Quality Inn & Suites The Menzies

The room was a little rough around the edges, but it was clean, spacious, and had great amenities: a full fridge, kettle, microwave, and crockery. Staff were polite and helpful, and town was an easy walk away. Incredible value. I’d use it again if I need somewhere to stay in Ballarat.

The bedsheet was a bit thin but comfortable. Noise from the kitchen window still came through the blind, and there’s no clock; the smart TV could be more functional. The room works, and the issues aren’t immediately noticeable, but it could use some attention. There’s mould along the bathroom floor edges, and the flush buttons have copper oxide delamination. The fittings themselves look relatively new. A point on the kitchen floor edge pricks me for some reason, the carpet makes a strange noise in one section, and some tiles are slightly cracked. Also, this motel is NOT affiliated with Choice Hotels. Some paraphernalia is still there and should be removed and discontinued.

I wouldn’t stay here again. The neighbours’ TV came through the wall all night, every night, and I could hear people arriving and leaving too. There was an ashtray mounted outside my bathroom, so smokers were constantly outside my room and I had to keep the bathroom blind down. Once it was smoking so badly I had to pour water into it, and my room smelled of cigarettes. The shower curtain was about 60cms off the floor; it pushed into the shower while I was using it and stuck to my leg. I never met any staff. Whenever I went to reception, it was locked and closed.

My seven-day stay was great. The apartment was huge, very clean, and they brought fresh towels every day. I was well impressed.
