Seymours on Lydiard

We love Ballarat and have had lovely stays at other accommodation there, but this experience means we definitely won’t return. We’d booked two nights in a more refurbished room, then were given a different one. The room upstairs was constantly stomping, so we couldn’t relax or rest. At reception, a woman first said there were no other rooms. After I went back because the noise continued, she said one was vacant but would cost an extra $115. Otherwise, she couldn’t do anything. She also said not all room photos could be uploaded, and the downstairs room wasn’t shown on the website. If we’d known our booked room wasn’t available, we would have booked elsewhere. Since it was Christmas Eve, most places in Ballarat were already taken. I was absolutely dumbfounded and extremely disappointed by her lack of care.

The room was spacious and clean, and the service was excellent. My friend and I paid just $86 each for one night, so it was very budget-friendly. The facilities were comprehensive too, with a sofa, TV, fridge, oven and microwave.

At lunch, the tables hadn’t been set for the number of people we’d booked for. It was too noisy, and used crockery and drink glasses sat on the table for over an hour.

We stayed last night at Seymour's Lydiard Motel in Ballarat, and the room was a great size for my family. It was neat and clean, and I was really pleased that all the kitchen utensils were there. The motel is only a minute’s drive from Ballarat city, and it felt like good value with a room that works well for families.
